What is the rationale for combining Ferrous ascorbate with Folate + Vitamin B12?
Deficiencies of folate, vitamin B12, and iron are important causes of ineffective erythropoiesis that leads to nutritional anemia.
Consequences of deficiencies causes:
IRON: Loss of productivity, cognitive impairment, and increased susceptibility to infection, and anemia during pregnancy, and preterm birth
FOLATE ( FOLIC ACID): Low birth weight, neural tube defects, and elevated homocysteine levels and increased risk of cardiovascular diseases
VITAMIN B12: Megablastic anemia, impaired cognitive performance and neurological changes (tingling in the hands and feet)
Did you Know?In Canada, the prevalence of anemia is estimated to be in 9% of women aged 20 to 49 years, and in 13% of females aged 12 to 19 years, while higher rates are found amongst seniors.
